Undifferentiated State Maintenance
Embryonic stem cells (ES cells) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells) possess both pluripotency and self-renewal capacity. Pluripotency refers to the ability to differentiate into various cell types, while self-renewal refers to the ability to divide while maintaining the same characteristics. Signal transduction is involved in the differentiation of cells into specific types, and by controlling these processes using medium additives such as small molecules and cytokines, it is possible to efficiently inhibit differentiation induction while maintaining pluripotency and replicating cells.
Serum-free medium for human pluripotent stem cellsStemSure® hPSC MediumΔ
This product is a serum-free liquid media suitable for maintaining human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs), human ES cells and human iPS cels in the absence of feeder cells. The raw material of this media is not used components containing any animal-derived materials. Moreover, this media does not contain any albumins (such as BSA or HSA), thereby it can culture hPSCs stably without lot difference. Please note that this medium does not contain basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF).
StemSure® series
StemSure® Serum Replacement is a serum replacement for
ES/iPS cell culture. Since serum contains factors that induce differentiation of cells, serum replacements
are commonly used when culturing ES/iPS cells to maintain their undifferentiated states. ES/ iPS cells can
thus be cultured safely using this product.
The product is safe to handle as it is not categorized as a poisonous substance. Murine ES cells cultured in
medium containing StemSure Serum Replacement have been used to create chimera mice and to achieve germline
transmission.
StemSure® Serum Replacement (SSR)
StemSure® Serum Replacement is a serum replacement for ES/iPS cell culture. Since serum contains factors that induce differentiation of cells, serum replacements are commonly used when culturing ES/iPS cells to maintain their undifferentiated states. ES/ iPS cells can thus be cultured safely using this product.

FUJIFILM Wako offers the CultureSure® line of reagents that have been specifically formulated and validated for use in cell culture applications. They are ideal for clinical research and product development in the fields of regenerative medicine and biopharmaceutical engineering. CultureSure® media supplements (amino acids, vitamins, carbohydrates, and inorganic salts) are free of animal-derived components. These reagents are also tested for endotoxin levels and the contamination of microorganisms (including mycoplasma species). Moreover, they are produced by manufacturers with effective change management practices. These stringent standards in quality control ensure the safety and reliability of this media supplement series.
Y-27632
It is a selective and potent inhibitor of ROCK (Rho-associated
coiled-coil forming kinase/Rho binding kinase).Y-27632 has a variety of activities including vascular smooth
muscle contraction through the ROCK signaling (Ki = 140 nmol/L p160ROCK). This product has been reported to
suppress death of human ES cells and human iPS cells at the time of cell dispersion, and also improves
viability of the cells after cryopreservation.
We provide four types of Y-27632 products. You can select according to the purpose of uses.
Small Molecules for ES/iPS cells Research
Since the establishment of iPS cells in 2006, there has been a number of researches in this area. We have a variety of products that have been shown to be involved in the processes of maintaining undifferentiated states and inducing differentiation of ES and iPS cells. Some products that we have available are prepared as solutions and are ready-to-use.
CultureSure™ Small Molecules
CultureSure™ small molecules are reportedly involved in the processes of ES and iPS cell differentiation and maintaining their capacity to remain undifferentiated. The products are safe to be used in cell culture as their level of cytotoxicity has beenchecked and they have undergone mycoplasma and endotoxin tests. 1 mL preparation of Y-27632 solution is now available for use.
CultureSure™ CEPT Cocktail(1,000×)
CEPT is a cocktail of small molecules developed at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). It contains four components, and CEPT is an acronym for them: Chroman 1, Emricasan, Polyamines, and Trans-ISRIB.
In human ES cells and human iPS cells (human pluripotent stem cells [hPSCs]), CEPT prevents cellular stress and DNA damage during cell passage.1) Like Y-27632, a known potent ROCK inhibitor, it improves the viability of hPSCs during cell passage and cryopreservation.
Compared to existing methods, CEPT also improves cell viability in stem cell research, including embryoid body and organoid formation, single cell cloning, and genome editing using hPSCs.1-5)
Our product is a ready-to-use CEPT cocktail solution that has been tested for sterility and does not require preparation. This filter-sterilized solution can be added directly to the culture medium. It will aid in regenerative medicine research.

beMatrix Series(Nitta Gelatin Inc.)
Vitronectin (aa 20-398), Human, Recombinant, Liquid
Vitronectin is a 478 amino-acid glycoprotein found in serum and the extracellular matrix. Similar to other extracellular matrix proteins (such as fibronectin and laminins), it is classified as a cell adhesion protein. Vitronectin is multifunctional; in addition to promoting cell adhesion and spreading, it plays a role in both the complement and coagulation cascades.
FUJIFILM Wako's vitronectin is a recombinant protein. It lacks the N-terminal signal peptide and thus contains amino-acid residues 20-398. This product is ideal for functional studies of vitronectin in the areas of tissue repair and regeneration. It can also be used as a chemically-defined biomaterial for various cell culture applications, including scaffold construction.
iMatrix Series (MATRIXOME, Inc.)
The iMatrix Series of products are recombinant proteins that designed based on human laminin's "E8" region.. They have been used by many researchers as scaffold substrates for culturing cells, including pluripotent stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells (MSC).

Trypsin-EDTA Solution (without Phenol Red), AF
This product is a trypsin EDTA solution that has been tested for mycoplasma, endotoxin, and sterility. It can be used to detach adherent cells and disperse cells in various tissues.
As this product is an animal component-free product made from recombinant trypsin, it can be safely used in experiments without viral contamination.
DISPASE (Godo Shusei Co., Ltd.)
DISPASE is a metalloprotease that cleaves the N-terminal of neutral nonpolar amino acids in peptide chains. It detaches epithelial cells from tissues in a sheet-like structure and has long been used for cell separation and dispersion for primary culture. In addition, DISPASE, which is characterized by lower cytotoxicity and gentler cell dispersion than trypsin, collagenase, and other proteases, is also used in regenerative medicine such as ES/iPS cells.
