Cell Preservation

In addition to cell preservation solutions, we supply small molecules that have been reported to improve cell survival rates after freezing of embryonic stem cells (ES cells) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells).

Medium Additive

Amino Acids, Vitamins, Carbohydrates, and Inorganic SaltsCultureSure® Media Supplement Series

FUJIFILM Wako offers the CultureSure® line of reagents that have been specifically formulated and validated for use in cell culture applications. They are ideal for clinical research and product development in the fields of regenerative medicine and biopharmaceutical engineering. CultureSure® media supplements (amino acids, vitamins, carbohydrates, and inorganic salts) are free of animal-derived components. These reagents are also tested for endotoxin levels and the contamination of microorganisms (including mycoplasma species). Moreover, they are produced by manufacturers with effective change management practices. These stringent standards in quality control ensure the safety and reliability of this media supplement series.

Y-27632

It is a selective and potent inhibitor of ROCK (Rho-associated coiled-coil forming kinase/Rho binding kinase).Y-27632 has a variety of activities including vascular smooth muscle contraction through the ROCK signaling (Ki = 140 nmol/L p160ROCK). This product has been reported to suppress death of human ES cells and human iPS cells at the time of cell dispersion, and also improves viability of the cells after cryopreservation.
We provide four types of Y-27632 products. You can select according to the purpose of uses.

CultureSure™ CEPT Cocktail(1,000×)

CEPT is a cocktail of small molecules developed at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). It contains four components, and CEPT is an acronym for them: Chroman 1, Emricasan, Polyamines, and Trans-ISRIB.

In human ES cells and human iPS cells (human pluripotent stem cells [hPSCs]), CEPT prevents cellular stress and DNA damage during cell passage.1) Like Y-27632, a known potent ROCK inhibitor, it improves the viability of hPSCs during cell passage and cryopreservation.

Compared to existing methods, CEPT also improves cell viability in stem cell research, including embryoid body and organoid formation, single cell cloning, and genome editing using hPSCs.1-5)

Our product is a ready-to-use CEPT cocktail solution that has been tested for sterility and does not require preparation. This filter-sterilized solution can be added directly to the culture medium. It will aid in regenerative medicine research.

*This product is manufactured and sold under license from NIH.

Cell Preservation Solution

SOFORO Cryo (Saraya Co.,Ltd.)

SOFORO Cryo is a DMSO-free cell cryopreservation solution containing sophorolipid*(SOFORO), a biosurfactant made excusively by SARAYA.

It exhibits high cell survival rates after thawing and low cell toxicity, allowing cells to be cultured directly without the need to remove the preservation solution. In addition to being DMSO-free, it is animal-free (contains no animal-derived components) and has a chemically defined composition with no proteins.

*Sophorolipid : A glycolipid produced by fermentation that has the effect of suppressing ice crystal formation.

iStock (GC Lymphotec Inc.)

GC Lymphotec Inc.'s iStock is a cell cryopreservation medium that contains no serum or non-human animal-derived components and is suitable for human ES/iPS cells and regenerative medicine research.
iStock ensures long-term stability. Collected cells can be suspended in this product and simply quick-frozen in an ultra-low temperature freezer for long-term storage. Cells can also be frozen and kept at -80oC for about 12 hours and then stored in liquid nitrogen.

StemSure® Freezing Medium

CultureSure® DMSO

FUJIFILM Wako's dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is tested for both sterility and endotoxin content. It is filter-sterilized and thus safe to use for cell culture applications.
