Differentiation Induction
Embryonic stem cells (ES cells) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells) possess both pluripotency and self-renewal capacity. Pluripotency refers to the ability to differentiate into various cell types, while self-renewal refers to the ability to divide while maintaining the same characteristics. Signal transduction is involved in the differentiation of cells into specific types, and by regulating these signals using medium additives such as small molecules and cytokines, cell differentiation can be efficiently induced.
StemSure® series
StemSure® Serum Replacement is a serum replacement for ES/iPS cell culture. Since serum contains factors that induce differentiation of cells, serum replacements are commonly used when culturing ES/iPS cells to maintain their undifferentiated states. ES/ iPS cells can thus be cultured safely using this product. The product is safe to handle as it is not categorized as a poisonous substance. Murine ES cells cultured in medium containing StemSure Serum Replacement have been used to create chimera mice and to achieve germline transmission.

Small Molecules for ES/iPS cells Research
Since the establishment of iPS cells in 2006, there has been a number of researches in this area. We have a variety of products that have been shown to be involved in the processes of maintaining undifferentiated states and inducing differentiation of ES and iPS cells. Some products that we have available are prepared as solutions and are ready-to-use.
CultureSure™ Small Molecules
CultureSure™ small molecules are reportedly involved in the processes of ES and iPS cell differentiation and maintaining their capacity to remain undifferentiated. The products are safe to be used in cell culture as their level of cytotoxicity has beenchecked and they have undergone mycoplasma and endotoxin tests. 1 mL preparation of Y-27632 solution is now available for use.
Animal-free Cytokines
Animal-free cytokines are expressed and purified from E. coli that was cultured without any animal-derived materials. There is a minimal risk of viral contaminations that would otherwise be caused by the presence of animal-derived raw materials. These cytokines can be used in the same way as regular cytokines.
