Cytokine Solutions
Cytokines are commonly added to culture media during the cultivation of ES/iPS cells and various other cell types. However, there is a risk of contamination when reconstituting lyophilized cytokines.
To address this concern, FUJIFILM Wako offers a line of ready-to-use cytokine solutions that can be added directly to culture media.

Activin A is a growth factor belonging to the TGF-β family. It exhibits a variety of biological activities, including regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation, induction of apoptosis, and promotion of neuronal cell survival. During embryogenesis, Activin A establishes a concentration gradient that specifies organ differentiation in a concentration-dependent manner. Accordingly, Activin A plays an essential role in the differentiation of ES/iPS cells in the field of regenerative medicine.
