Anti Sbp2l Antibodies
Sbp2l (SECIS-binding protein 2-like) is a RNA-binding protein expressed specifically in oligodendrocytes. It is considered essential for the normal maturation of oligodendrocytes. Immunohistochemical analysis has confirmed that Sbp2l colocalizes with known oligodendrocyte markers such as Olig2 and MBP, supporting its utility as an oligodendrocyte marker.
Fujifilm Wako offers a polyclonal antibody against Sbp2l raised in rabbits. It can be used for immunohistochemistry of oligodendrocytes and for Western blotting.
What is Sbp2l?
Sbp2l (SECIS-binding protein 2-like), also known as Secisbp2L, is an RNA-binding protein. Sbp2l is an ortholog of Sbp2 (Secisbp2), a well-characterized RNA-binding protein that binds the Sec insertion sequence (SECIS) motif in the 3′-UTR of selenoprotein mRNAs. Like Sbp2, Sbp2l binds SECIS-like structures in the 3′-UTR of mRNAs1).
Integrative transcriptomic analysis identified Sbp2l as an RNA-binding protein expressed specifically in oligodendrocytes1). Because oligodendrocyte maturation is impaired in Sbp2l-knockout mice, Sbp2l is considered essential for the normal maturation of these cells. Furthermore, immunohistochemical analysis has confirmed that Sbp2l colocalizes with known oligodendrocyte markers such as Olig2 and MBP1), supporting its utility as an oligodendrocyte marker.
